Responsibilities
- Perform accurate venipuncture and capillary blood collections
- Process and label specimens according to HIPAA protocols
- Verify patient identification and maintain specimen integrity
- Operate laboratory equipment and troubleshoot basic issues
- Document procedures using electronic health record systems
- Provide patient education on blood draw procedures
- Collaborate with medical staff for sample prioritization
Qualifications
- Current NYS Phlebotomy Technician certification
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Proficiency in venipuncture techniques
- Knowledge of OSHA and CLIA regulations
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR)
