Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures with accuracy and minimal patient discomfort
- Process and label specimens according to HIPAA and CLIA regulations
- Maintain sterile environments and calibrated equipment
- Verify patient identity and document collection details in EMR systems
- Assist in training new phlebotomy staff
- Collaborate with laboratory and nursing teams for seamless patient care
- Participate in quality control initiatives and compliance audits
Qualifications
- Current Hawaii Phlebotomy Technician certification (required)
- Minimum 1 year of clinical phlebotomy experience
- BLS/CPR certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
- Proficiency in specimen processing and handling
- Strong interpersonal skills with diverse patient populations
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic preferred)
- Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends
