Responsibilities
- Perform accurate venipuncture and capillary blood collections following OSHA and CLIA guidelines
- Process and label specimens with meticulous attention to detail
- Maintain sterile equipment and work environment per infection control standards
- Provide patient education during blood draw procedures
- Utilize LIS systems for specimen tracking and documentation
- Collaborate with lab staff and providers for efficient workflow
- Adhere to HIPAA compliance for all patient data
Qualifications
- Current Texas Phlebotomy Technician certification (PTA or ASCP)
- 1+ years of clinical phlebotomy experience
- Excellent venipuncture skills with minimal callbacks
- CPR/BLS certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
- Proficiency in electronic health records and specimen tracking systems
- Strong communication skills for patient interaction
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Background check and drug screen required
