Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging surgical instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Monitor patients' vital signs and document surgical procedures accurately
- Manage surgical supplies inventory and ensure proper sterilization protocols
- Collaborate with nursing staff to optimize surgical workflow efficiency
- Handle biohazardous materials and waste according to OSHA standards
- Participate in continuous education for surgical technology advancements
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 1 year of acute care OR experience
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Knowledge of sterile processing and aseptic techniques
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced surgical environments
- Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts including weekends
- New Jersey Surgical Technology license preferred
