Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and setting up sterile fields
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile environments
- Count and manage surgical supplies, sutures, and equipment before, during, and after operations
- Transport patients to and from operating rooms while monitoring vital signs
- Ensure proper sterilization and maintenance of surgical instruments and equipment
- Document procedural activities accurately in electronic health records
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams to ensure seamless surgical workflow
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- Minimum 1 year of recent surgical tech experience in general surgery
- Knowledge of sterile processing and OSHA compliance standards
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure emergency situations
- Strong communication skills for interdisciplinary team collaboration
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Flexibility to work varied shifts including weekends and on-call rotations
- Pass background check and pre-employment health screening
