Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms, sterilize equipment, and arrange surgical instruments for upcoming procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments, holding retractors, and managing sterile fields
- Monitor inventory and restock supplies to ensure seamless surgical workflows
- Adhere to strict aseptic techniques and OSHA protocols for infection control
- Document all surgical procedures accurately in electronic health records
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams to optimize patient outcomes
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent credential required
- Minimum 2 years of recent surgical tech experience in hospital setting
- Proficiency in sterile processing and surgical instrumentation
- Current BLS certification and ability to maintain throughout employment
- Knowledge of major surgical specialties (Ortho, Neuro, General, etc.)
- Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends and on-call rotations
- Strong communication skills and ability to thrive in fast-paced environments
