Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment, setting up sterile fields, and arranging instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, sutures, and sterile supplies
- Monitor sterile technique compliance and maintain aseptic environments
- Handle specimens for laboratory analysis and assist with wound closure
- Manage surgical equipment inventory and sterilization processes
- Document procedural details accurately in electronic health records
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless patient care
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent credential required
- Minimum 1 year of recent surgical tech experience in OR setting
- Knowledge of sterile processing and instrumentation protocols
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure emergency situations
- Strong communication skills for interdisciplinary collaboration
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- TN state license or ability to obtain immediately
- Experience with minimally invasive surgical techniques preferred
