Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain sterile surgical fields, equipment, and supplies
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and anticipating needs
- Ensure proper sterilization and handling of surgical instruments per OSHA standards
- Monitor inventory and restock operating rooms between cases
- Document procedural activities accurately in electronic health records
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams to optimize patient outcomes
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- Minimum 2 years recent operating room experience
- Knowledge of sterile processing and surgical instrumentation
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Current BLS certification
- Experience with major surgical subspecialties preferred
