Responsibilities
- Perform complex venipuncture and capillary blood draws with precision and minimal discomfort
- Process and transport specimens for advanced testing protocols
- Maintain strict HIPAA compliance and infection control standards
- Train junior phlebotomy staff on advanced techniques
- Operate automated analyzers and maintain equipment calibration
- Document patient interactions and specimen data accurately
- Collaborate with physicians on specialized collection procedures
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of phlebotomy experience in high-volume clinical setting
- Certification from ASCP, AMT, or equivalent
- Expertise in pediatric, geriatric, and difficult venipuncture access
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Experience with EMR systems and specimen tracking software
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and CLIA regulations
- Exceptional communication skills for patient education
- Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends
