Responsibilities
- Assess patient symptoms and prioritize cases based on medical urgency
- Provide accurate clinical guidance to patients via phone, telehealth, and in-person triage
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to coordinate patient care pathways
- Maintain detailed electronic health records (EHR) with precise documentation
- Implement emergency protocols for critical and life-threatening situations
- Educate patients on symptoms, treatment options, and preventive care measures
- Monitor patient flow and optimize department resource allocation
Qualifications
- Active RN license in New York State
- Minimum 2 years of emergency room or urgent care experience
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities
- Excellent communication and de-escalation skills
- Proficient in EHR systems (EPIC preferred)
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments
- Valid NYS driver's license (if required for mobile triage units)
