Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including restorative and surgical treatments
- Perform chairside duties: suctioning, instrument transfer, and patient positioning
- Manage sterilization protocols and maintain OSHA compliance standards
- Take digital dental radiographs and update patient charts accurately
- Prepare treatment rooms, equipment, and materials for efficient workflow
- Provide post-op instructions and educate patients on oral hygiene
- Coordinate with front desk to optimize patient scheduling and experience
Qualifications
- Active Dental Assistant certification (DANB or state-recognized)
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in general dentistry
- Proficiency in digital radiography and practice management software
- CPR certification (BLS preferred)
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and infection control knowledge
- Spanish language skills a plus for diverse patient population
