Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for procedures and maintain sterile treatment environments
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including endodontics and orthodontics
- Manage digital radiography (X-rays) and intraoral imaging systems
- Oversee inventory control and sterilization protocols
- Train new assistants on practice workflows and compliance standards
- Implement infection control procedures per OSHA guidelines
- Coordinate patient education on post-treatment care
Qualifications
- Current Dental Assistant certification (DANB or state-equivalent)
- Minimum 3 years clinical experience in general dentistry
- Proficiency in Eaglesoft/Dentrix practice management software
- CPR/BLS certification (current)
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and dental billing codes
- Exceptional chairside manner and multitasking ability
- Experience managing assistant teams preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent required
