Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including oral surgery, restorations, and orthodontic treatments
- Perform chairside duties: instrument transfer, suction management, and four-handed dentistry
- Manage digital radiography and CBCT imaging with precision and patient safety protocols
- Oversee sterilization processes and OSHA compliance in the treatment area
- Train new assistants on practice workflows and infection control standards
- Prepare treatment rooms, materials, and equipment for diverse dental specialties
- Deliver exceptional patient education on post-procedure care and oral hygiene
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of dental assisting experience in a multi-specialty practice
- Current DANB certification or Massachusetts Dental Assistant license
- Proficiency in Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar practice management software
- Expertise in digital radiography and intraoral imaging systems
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, HIPAA, and dental infection control protocols
- CPR/BLS certification from AHA or Red Cross
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to manage patient anxiety
- Associates degree in Dental Assisting or related field preferred
