Responsibilities
- Oversee daily pharmacy operations including prescription processing, inventory management, and compounding
- Mentor junior technicians and ensure compliance with state/federal regulations
- Collaborate with pharmacists to optimize medication therapy management
- Utilize automated dispensing systems for accurate prescription fulfillment
- Manage third-party billing and insurance verification processes
- Implement quality control measures for medication safety
- Coordinate with healthcare providers for seamless patient care transitions
Qualifications
- Active Virginia Pharmacy Technician license (PhT) required
- PTCB certification with 2+ years of retail/hospital experience
- Proficiency in pharmacy management systems (e.g., QS1, Omnicell)
- Strong knowledge of DEA regulations and HIPAA compliance
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- CPR certification preferred
- Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends
- Associate's degree in pharmacy technology preferred
