Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescription medications and verify dosages under pharmacist supervision
- Manage inventory control and medication ordering processes
- Train and mentor new pharmacy technicians on protocols and procedures
- Process insurance claims and handle third-party billing
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality standards
- Operate pharmacy software systems (eRx, Omnicell)
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize patient medication regimens
Qualifications
- Active Kentucky Pharmacy Technician license (PCTB certification)
- Minimum 2 years of retail or hospital pharmacy experience
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., QS/1, Rx30)
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) preferred
- Strong attention to detail and mathematical accuracy
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Basic knowledge of sterile compounding procedures
