Responsibilities
- Prepare and dispense prescription medications with 100% accuracy following NAPLEX standards
- Manage pharmaceutical inventory control and ordering systems to prevent stockouts
- Operate automated dispensing systems and maintain sterile compounding environments
- Provide exceptional patient consultation on medication usage and side effects
- Train junior technicians on pharmacy protocols and regulatory compliance
- Process insurance claims and maintain HIPAA-compliant patient records
- Collaborate with physicians and nurses on medication therapy management
Qualifications
- Active Louisiana Pharmacy Technician license (PTCB or ExCPT certified)
- Minimum 3 years hospital or specialty pharmacy experience
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., QS/1, Omnicell)
- Strong knowledge of sterile compounding USP 797 standards
- Excellent communication skills with ability to explain complex medications
- CPR certification and HIPAA compliance training
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 25 lbs
