Responsibilities
- Dispense prescription medications accurately while adhering to state and federal regulations
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, receiving, and maintaining stock levels
- Process insurance claims and manage patient billing inquiries
- Train and mentor junior pharmacy technicians on best practices
- Utilize pharmacy software (e.g., Omnicell, QS/1) for record-keeping and inventory tracking
- Provide exceptional customer service and medication counseling to patients
- Maintain clean and organized pharmacy workspace in compliance with HIPAA standards
Qualifications
- Active Pharmacy Technician certification (PTCB or ExCPT)
- Minimum 2 years of pharmacy technician experience in retail or hospital setting
- Valid Maryland Pharmacy Technician license
- Proficiency with pharmacy dispensing systems and inventory management software
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills and customer service orientation
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
- High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework in healthcare preferred
