Responsibilities
- Manage complex prescription processing workflows using advanced automation systems (e.g., Omnicell, ScriptPro)
- Mentor junior technicians while ensuring strict adherence to NY State Board of Pharmacy regulations
- Oversee inventory control and pharmaceutical procurement with zero-error medication reconciliation
- Administer immunizations and perform patient health screenings under pharmacist supervision
- Coordinate with insurance providers to resolve complex billing and coverage issues
- Maintain HIPAA-compliant patient records and electronic health documentation
- Conduct quality assurance checks for compounded medications and sterile preparations
Qualifications
- Active NYS Pharmacy Technician license with minimum 3 years experience in hospital/retail settings
- CPhT (Certified Pharmacy Technician) or PTCB credentials required
- Expertise in IV compounding and sterile product preparation
- Advanced proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., QS/1, McKesson)
- Strong mathematical aptitude with precise measurement capabilities
- Exceptional communication skills for patient education and team collaboration
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments with multiple priorities
- Basic knowledge of third-party billing procedures and insurance verification
