Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms with sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Monitor inventory and sterilization processes per OSHA/JCAHO standards
- Document surgical procedures accurately in electronic health records
- Train junior staff on sterile technique and equipment protocols
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless patient care
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 3 years of recent OR experience
- Expertise in orthopedic/general surgery specialties
- Strong knowledge of sterile processing protocols
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure emergency situations
- BLS/CPR certification with current ACLS preferred
