Responsibilities
- Lead pharmacy operations including prescription verification, compounding, and inventory management
- Mentor junior technicians and ensure adherence to HIPAA/JCAHO standards
- Manage automated dispensing systems and coordinate with hospital departments
- Oversee sterile compounding (IV, TPN) and hazardous drug handling protocols
- Implement quality control measures and optimize workflow efficiency
- Train staff on new pharmacy technologies and regulatory updates
- Collaborate with pharmacists on medication therapy management initiatives
Qualifications
- Active Alaska Pharmacy Technician license (PTCB or ExCPT certified)
- 3+ years hospital or specialty pharmacy experience required
- Advanced compounding certification (ASHP preferred)
- Expertise in pharmacy automation systems (Omnicell, Talyst)
- Strong leadership and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
- Proficiency in pharmacy software (QS1, EpicRx)
- BS in Pharmacy Technology or related field preferred
