Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescription medications and compound pharmaceutical preparations following protocols
- Manage inventory control, ordering, and stock rotation of pharmaceutical products
- Process insurance claims and manage third-party billing systems
- Provide exceptional patient consultation on medication usage and OTC products
- Maintain HIPAA-compliant electronic health records and pharmacy documentation
- Train and mentor new pharmacy technicians on standard procedures
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure optimal patient care outcomes
Qualifications
- Active Texas Pharmacy Technician license (PTCB or ExCPT certified)
- Minimum 2 years of pharmacy experience in retail or hospital setting
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., QS1, Rx30)
- Strong knowledge of prescription processing and insurance verification
- Excellent communication skills with ability to educate diverse patient populations
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
- Detail-oriented with exceptional accuracy in medication handling
