Responsibilities
- Assess patient symptoms and medical histories to prioritize care urgency using ESI protocols
- Provide telephone triage services for patients with acute and chronic conditions
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to develop care plans
- Maintain accurate electronic health records and documentation
- Educate patients on appropriate care pathways and preventive measures
- Manage patient flow during high-volume periods and critical incidents
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives for triage processes
Qualifications
- Active RN license in New Mexico (or compact state)
- Minimum 3 years emergency department or urgent care experience
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic preferred)
- Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication abilities in English and Spanish
- Experience with triage protocols (ESI, Manchester Triage)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
