Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescription medications and verify orders with pharmacists
- Manage inventory control and medication ordering for high-volume operations
- Train and mentor junior pharmacy technicians on best practices
- Process insurance claims and manage third-party billing systems
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality protocols
- Operate automated dispensing systems and pharmacy software (OmniRx, QS/1)
- Provide exceptional customer service to diverse patient populations
Qualifications
- Active New York State Pharmacy Technician license
- 2+ years of experience in high-volume retail or hospital pharmacy
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) preferred
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software and electronic health records
- Strong knowledge of FDA regulations and medication safety protocols
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred
