Responsibilities
- Dispense medications accurately and efficiently using pharmacy software systems
- Verify prescription orders and ensure HIPAA compliance documentation
- Lead inventory management, including controlled substance tracking
- Train and mentor new pharmacy technicians on best practices
- Collaborate with pharmacists to resolve medication discrepancies
- Maintain sterile compounding environments for IV preparations
- Process insurance claims and third-party billing
- Implement quality assurance protocols for patient safety
Qualifications
- Active Florida Pharmacy Technician license (PTCB or ExCPT certified)
- Minimum 2 years of hospital or retail pharmacy experience
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., Omnicell, QS1)
- Strong knowledge of sterile compounding USP 797 guidelines
- CPR certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments
- Attention to detail with zero tolerance for medication errors
