Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare and dispense prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Manage inventory control, including ordering, receiving, and tracking controlled substances
- Provide exceptional patient counseling on medication usage and side effects
- Maintain precise electronic health records and pharmacy documentation
- Train and mentor junior pharmacy technicians on best practices
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize patient therapy plans
- Ensure strict compliance with HIPAA and pharmacy board regulations
Qualifications
- Active Wisconsin Pharmacy Technician certification required
- Minimum 2 years retail or hospital pharmacy experience
- Strong knowledge of prescription processing software (e.g., QS/1, Omnicell)
- Excellent communication and patient interaction skills
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure situations
- Valid CPR certification or willingness to obtain
- Attention to detail with zero-error medication handling record
