Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense and verify prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Manage prescription processing workflow including data entry and insurance verification
- Provide exceptional patient counseling on medication usage and OTC products
- Maintain inventory control and medication ordering systems
- Ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations and HIPAA standards
- Train and mentor junior pharmacy technicians
- Coordinate with healthcare providers for prescription clarification
Qualifications
- Active California Pharmacy Technician license (PTCB or ExCPT certified)
- 1+ years of retail pharmacy experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of pharmacy software (e.g., QS1, Omnicell)
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 25 lbs
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities
- Basic math proficiency for compounding calculations
- Valid driver's license (required for occasional deliveries)
