Responsibilities
- Oversee daily pharmacy operations including prescription processing, inventory management, and compounding
- Mentor and train junior pharmacy technicians on protocols and best practices
- Verify prescription accuracy and ensure compliance with state/federal regulations
- Manage medication ordering, receiving, and rotation to prevent shortages
- Process insurance claims and resolve billing discrepancies
- Coordinate with pharmacists on patient consultations and medication counseling
- Maintain sterile compounding environments for IV medications
- Implement quality control measures for prescription dispensing
Qualifications
- Active Texas Pharmacy Technician registration (PTCB or ExCPT certified)
- Minimum 2 years retail pharmacy experience with leadership exposure
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., QS1, Omnicell)
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA compliance and medication safety protocols
- Excellent communication skills for patient interactions and team collaboration
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure, fast-paced environments
- Certification in sterile compounding preferred
- Basic math skills for prescription calculations and inventory management
