Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain sterile surgical fields, instruments, and equipment for complex procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments, sutures, and supplies
- Monitor inventory and order surgical supplies while optimizing cost-efficiency
- Train and mentor junior surgical technicians on best practices
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, AORN, and hospital safety protocols
- Coordinate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless surgical workflows
- Document procedural activities accurately in electronic health records
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- 3+ years of experience in Level I trauma center operating rooms
- Expertise in orthopedic, neuro, and cardiovascular surgical specialties
- Strong knowledge of sterile processing and equipment sterilization
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure emergency situations
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Current BLS certification
