Responsibilities
- Assist in complex surgical procedures across specialties including orthopedics, neurosurgery, and cardiovascular
- Maintain sterile fields and ensure compliance with OSHA and AORN standards
- Prepare operating rooms, equipment, and supplies for surgical cases
- Coordinate instrument and equipment sterilization and inventory management
- Train and mentor junior surgical technologists on best practices
- Collaborate with surgical team to optimize efficiency and patient outcomes
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and process optimization
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- 3+ years of experience in scrub tech role with specialty focus
- Current BLS certification
- Proven experience in sterile processing and equipment handling
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and instrumentation
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to thrive in high-pressure surgical environments
- Associate's degree or equivalent in Surgical Technology preferred
