Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by setting up sterile fields, instruments, and equipment according to surgical protocols
- Assist surgeons during complex procedures by passing instruments, sutures, and supplies with precision
- Maintain strict sterile environments to prevent infections and ensure patient safety
- Manage surgical inventory, including instrument counts and equipment sterilization
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams to optimize surgical workflow
- Train and mentor junior surgical technologists on best practices
- Document procedural details accurately in electronic health records
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with current NBSTA certification
- Minimum 3 years of experience in orthopedic or neurosurgical specialties
- Associate degree or certificate in Surgical Technology from accredited program
- Expertise in advanced sterilization techniques and instrument management
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to perform under pressure
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and OSHA regulations
- Experience with robotic-assisted surgical systems preferred
