Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain sterile operating environments for complex surgical procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and anticipating procedural needs
- Manage surgical equipment inventory and ensure compliance with sterilization protocols
- Train and mentor junior surgical technologists on advanced techniques
- Collaborate with nursing staff to optimize surgical workflow efficiency
- Document procedural details and maintain accurate equipment logs
- Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with current certification
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Level 1 trauma center or specialty surgical setting
- Expertise in orthopedic, neuro, or cardiovascular instrumentation
- Advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) certification
- Proven ability to maintain composure during high-pressure scenarios
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems (EPIC preferred)
- Strong attention to detail and sterile technique mastery
