Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms, sterilize equipment, and maintain sterile environments for complex surgical procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments, sutures, and other sterile supplies
- Manage inventory and equipment maintenance for 15+ OR suites
- Train and mentor junior surgical techs on best practices and protocols
- Coordinate with anesthesia and nursing teams to ensure seamless surgical workflows
- Document procedural details accurately in electronic health records
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives for surgical safety
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with 5+ years of experience
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Proven expertise in orthopedic, neuro, and cardiovascular specialties
- Strong knowledge of sterile processing standards (AAMI/ST79)
- Experience with robotic surgical systems preferred
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in high-pressure environments
- Associate degree in Surgical Technology or related field required
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 50+ pounds
