Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations, take vital signs, and collect laboratory specimens
- Assist physicians during clinical procedures and maintain examination rooms
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems and ensure documentation accuracy
- Administer medications and injections as directed by healthcare providers
- Schedule appointments and handle patient correspondence professionally
- Coordinate patient education on treatment plans and preventive care
Qualifications
- Graduate from accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent certification
- Current CPR certification and BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in ambulatory care setting
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic experience preferred)
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build patient rapport
- Ability to multitask efficiently in fast-paced environment
- Illinois state certification as Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA)
