Responsibilities
- Assist physicians during examinations and medical procedures
- Prepare patients for exams, take vital signs, and document medical histories
- Perform clinical tasks including EKGs, phlebotomy, and basic lab testing
- Manage patient flow and ensure exam rooms are stocked and sanitized
- Handle administrative duties including scheduling, billing, and insurance verification
- Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) in compliance with HIPAA
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care
Qualifications
- Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or CCMA)
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of accredited MA program
- 1+ years of clinical experience in a medical setting
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic or NextGen preferred)
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build patient rapport
- Ability to multitask efficiently in fast-paced environment
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures
