Responsibilities
- Perform clinical tasks including vital signs, EKGs, phlebotomy, and medication administration
- Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers during procedures
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) with precision and HIPAA compliance
- Schedule appointments, handle insurance verification, and process billing codes
- Administer immunizations and perform basic laboratory tests
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care
- Maintain clean, organized exam rooms and inventory of medical supplies
Qualifications
- Current and active Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or NCMA)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in ambulatory care
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic or NextGen preferred)
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and clinical workflows
- New Mexico BLS certification or willingness to obtain immediately
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- High attention to detail and commitment to patient confidentiality
