Responsibilities
- Perform clinical procedures including vital signs, injections, EKGs, and phlebotomy
- Prepare and maintain exam rooms, ensuring sterile environments and proper equipment functionality
- Assist providers with patient examinations and minor procedures
- Accurately document patient information in EHR systems with HIPAA compliance
- Manage patient flow and coordinate with nursing staff for seamless care delivery
- Provide patient education on medications, treatments, and preventive care
- Handle administrative tasks including appointment scheduling and insurance verification
Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent experience
- Current CPR certification and BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in ambulatory or hospital setting
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic preferred)
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and clinical protocols
- Pennsylvania Medical Assistant certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
- Exceptional communication skills with diverse patient populations
