Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers during medical procedures
- Administer medications and injections under physician supervision
- Perform EKGs, phlebotomy, and basic laboratory tests
- Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) documentation
- Schedule appointments and manage patient flow efficiently
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care
- Ensure strict compliance with HIPAA and OSHA regulations
Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent certification
- Current CPR/BLS certification from AHA
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in outpatient setting
- Proficiency in EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner)
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to multitask in fast-paced environment
- New Mexico Medical Assistant certification preferred
- Experience with pediatric or geriatric populations a plus
