Responsibilities
- Patient Intake: Greet patients, verify demographic information, and prepare them for examination by taking vital signs and medical histories.
- Administrative Support: Manage appointment scheduling, process insurance verifications, and maintain accurate, up-to-date patient records in the EHR system.
- Clinical Procedures: Assist providers during examinations, perform basic lab tests, administer injections, and draw blood as required.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and restock examination rooms, ensuring all medical supplies and equipment are sterile and ready for use.
- Communication: Effectively communicate test results and treatment plans to patients and coordinate referrals to specialists.
- Infection Control: Adhere strictly to hygiene protocols and safety guidelines to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Education: Provide patient education on medications, diets, and lifestyle changes.
Qualifications
- Certification: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program and possession of current certification (CMA, RMA, or NCMA).
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a physician practice setting is preferred.
- License: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems and computer literacy.
- Interpersonal: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and empathetically with diverse patient populations.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in documentation and clinical procedures.
