Responsibilities
- Accurately record patient medical histories, vitals, and symptoms during intake.
- Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers during routine and specialized procedures.
- Perform venipuncture and EKG procedures with precision and patient comfort in mind.
- Maintain examination rooms and medical equipment to ensure strict sterilization standards.
- Assist with administrative tasks including scheduling appointments and processing insurance claims.
- Provide clear health education to patients regarding medications and post-care instructions.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) credential required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- 1-2 years of clinical experience in a primary care or outpatient setting preferred.
- Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth).
- Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on patient empathy and communication.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs when necessary.
