Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations, take vital signs, and maintain accurate medical records
- Assist physicians during clinical procedures and administer medications as directed
- Perform diagnostic tests, including EKGs, phlebotomy, and lab specimen processing
- Manage patient scheduling, insurance verification, and front desk operations
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize patient flow and efficiency
Qualifications
- Active Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or NCMA)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in ambulatory care
- BLS/CPR certification and phlebotomy proficiency
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and EHR systems (Epic preferred)
- Excellent communication skills and ability to multitask in fast-paced environments
- Valid Washington DC healthcare provider license
- Spanish bilingualism highly preferred
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
