Responsibilities
- Greet Patients: Welcome patients into the clinic, verify their information, and prepare them for their appointment.
- Vital Signs: Accurately measure and record patient vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and height/weight.
- Room Preparation: Prepare examination rooms with necessary instruments, equipment, and supplies for provider use.
- Assist Providers: Support physicians and nurse practitioners during examinations and procedures as needed.
- Admin Tasks: Manage front desk duties such as scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and handling insurance verification.
- Phlebotomy: Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws for lab testing.
- Patient Education: Provide basic health education and instructions to patients regarding medications and follow-up care.
Qualifications
- Certification: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program (CMA, RMA, or AMT preferred).
- Licensure: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical setting is preferred.
- Skills: Proficient in phlebotomy and basic EKG procedures.
- Software: Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth) is a plus.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
- Reliability: Must be punctual, professional, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
