Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations and assist physicians during procedures
- Administer medications and injections as directed by providers
- Perform EKGs, phlebotomy, and basic laboratory tests
- Maintain accurate patient records and electronic health documentation
- Ensure exam rooms are sanitized and fully stocked with supplies
- Schedule patient appointments and handle insurance verification
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and medications
Qualifications
- Active Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or CCMA)
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in ambulatory setting
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic, Cerner, or similar)
- Excellent phlebotomy and EKG skills
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- Ability to adapt quickly to different practice environments
- Valid Colorado state medical assistant license
