Responsibilities
- Patient Assessment: Take and record vital signs and medical histories accurately.
- Procedural Support: Assist physicians and nurse practitioners with examinations, procedures, and minor surgeries.
- Phlebotomy & Lab: Perform venipuncture and collect blood samples for lab analysis.
- Administrative Duties: Manage patient intake, update electronic health records (EHR), and handle insurance verification.
- Medication Administration: Prepare and administer medications as directed by providers, following strict safety protocols.
- Patient Education: Provide clear instructions on post-care and preventative health measures to patients and families.
- Facility Maintenance: Maintain a clean, sterile, and organized examination environment.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current certification as a CMA, RMA, or MA (NHA) required.
- Licensure: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS certifications.
- Experience: Minimum 1-2 years of clinical experience in a hospital or clinic setting preferred.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner).
- Regulatory Compliance: Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and medical privacy laws.
- Flexibility: Ability to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays.
