Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Measure vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration) and record data accurately in patient charts.
- Assistance: Prepare patients for examination by assisting with gowns and drapes and positioning them properly.
- Procedures: Perform basic laboratory tests, administer injections as directed by physicians, and draw blood samples for analysis.
- Administration: Manage patient records, including updating Electronic Health Records (EHR) and maintaining filing systems.
- Scheduling: Coordinate patient appointments, manage incoming calls, and handle front desk administrative duties.
- Education: Provide patient education on medications, diet, and lifestyle changes as requested by providers.
- Compliance: Adhere to all hospital policies, safety protocols, and HIPAA regulations.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) required.
- Experience: 1-2 years of clinical experience in a physician practice or hospital setting preferred.
- Licensure: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Skills: Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and strong computer literacy.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a patient-centered approach.
- Physical Demands: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift patients (up to 50 lbs), and perform fine motor skills.
