Responsibilities
- Assist surgeons during preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative procedures.
- Prepare and arrange operating room instruments, supplies, and equipment.
- Maintain aseptic technique and ensure a sterile environment throughout surgical procedures.
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after surgery to maintain safety protocols.
- Transmit medical records and specimens to the laboratory.
- Prepare patients for surgery by positioning them and covering them with surgical drapes.
Qualifications
- Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification required.
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of recent OR experience preferred.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.
- Strong knowledge of surgical instruments and sterilization techniques.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
