Responsibilities
- Personal Care Assistance: Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting in a respectful and dignified manner.
- Medication Management: Remind clients to take prescribed medications and observe their condition for any changes, reporting concerns to the supervising nurse.
- Household Support: Perform light housekeeping duties such as laundry, meal preparation, and light cleaning to ensure a safe and comfortable living environment.
- Mobility Assistance: Help clients with transferring, walking, and using mobility aids (walkers, wheelchairs) safely.
- Companionship: Engage clients in conversation, hobbies, and social activities to promote mental well-being and reduce feelings of isolation.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely records of care provided and client progress in our electronic health records system.
Qualifications
- Valid Certification: Must possess a current and valid California Home Health Aide (HHA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license.
- Driver’s License: Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required for this position.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in home care, geriatric care, or a related field preferred.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift, bend, stand, and walk for extended periods as required by the job.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and medical staff.
- Background Check: Must pass a background check and drug screening.
- Compassion: Genuine empathy, patience, and a strong desire to help others.
