Responsibilities
- Prepare examination rooms and sterilize medical equipment to ensure a safe and hygienic clinical environment.
- Assist physicians and nurse practitioners with patient examinations, taking vital signs, and performing basic lab tests.
- Manage patient flow, including greeting patients, updating medical records, and scheduling follow-up appointments.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by providers, strictly adhering to safety protocols.
- Provide patient education on preventative health, medications, and treatment plans.
- Handle administrative duties such as answering phones, processing insurance claims, and maintaining inventory.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program is required.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) is strongly preferred.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification through the American Heart Association is required.
- Proficient in using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-first attitude.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
