Responsibilities
- Perform accurate patient intakes, record vital signs, and document medical histories.
- Assist physicians and advanced practice providers during examinations and minor procedures.
- Prepare examination rooms with necessary instruments and ensure strict sterilization protocols.
- Administer medications, injections, and vaccines as directed by licensed providers.
- Manage patient records in the electronic health record (EHR) system and ensure HIPAA compliance.
- Provide clear instructions to patients regarding medications, follow-up care, and lifestyle changes.
- Collaborate with the front desk to ensure smooth patient flow and satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) from an accredited program.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR certification (ACLS preferred).
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a medical office or hospital setting.
- Proficiency in using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
