Responsibilities
- Prepare examination rooms and sterilize medical instruments and equipment to ensure a clean and safe environment.
- Assist providers with patient examinations, procedures, and minor medical treatments.
- Perform routine vital signs, EKGs, and basic lab draws (phlebotomy).
- Manage patient intake, including updating electronic health records (EHR) accurately and efficiently.
- Administer medications and vaccines under the strict supervision of licensed providers.
- Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures, instructions, and treatment plans.
- Maintain confidentiality of all patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; CMA or RMA certification is a plus but not mandatory for qualified candidates.
- Previous healthcare experience is preferred but not required for eager learners.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced medical setting.
- Basic computer literacy and experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) is a significant advantage.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
