Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and prepare them for examination by escorting them to exam rooms, ensuring privacy and comfort.
  • Measure vital signs, such as height, weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration, and record them accurately in the EHR.
  • Assist providers with patient exams, minor procedures, and treatments as directed and supervised.
  • Perform and/or assist with basic laboratory tests, phlebotomy, and EKGs according to established protocols.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, charts, and documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
  • Administer medications, injections, and vaccines per provider orders and established safety guidelines.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
  • Certification as a CMA (AAMA), RMA (AMT), NCMA, or similar credential preferred.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at time of hire.
  • One (1) year of experience in a clinical or ambulatory setting preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on patient privacy and confidentiality.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and prioritize tasks.
